CELEBRATIONS

Events and Festivals

Celebrating events and festivals in the school play an important role in expanding the students’ range of experience in terms of society, culture and traditions, and developing in them a strong sense of community and solidarity with others.

Independence Day

On Independence Day, 15th August, the school starts the day with a hoisting of the flag by the dignitary of the day. The function proceeds with stage programmes where the chief guest addresses the children with an Independence Day message and students present inspiring and patriotic songs, dances, and skits.

Onam

Onam is the first well-celebrated festival of the year. A stage programme is conducted with a prominent person as chief guest. Students sing Onam songs, perform vibrant dances and culturally inspired skits that highlight the importance of Onam. Games are also organized for all students, including a tug-of-war for the bigger children. After all the fun and frolic, students get a payasam treat prepared by the PTA executive committee. The decorative highlight of the season is the pookalam made at the centre of the school lobby.

Christmas Day

The season of Christmas a time when bright stars hang from the ceiling, a Christmas tree stands tall with sparkling lights and a Christmas Crib that highlights the birth of Jesus.

On the day when the school celebrates Christmas, students from different classes present lively programs such as Christmas dances, Christmas carols, and skits that bring out the message of peace, love and joy. Students dressed up as Joseph, Mary, with a “baby Jesus” in her arms, with pretty angels, carolers, and Santa Claus, visit the students in the classrooms as they share sweet dishes such as cakes and candies. Santa graces the students’ party with the cutting of the Christmas cake.

Teachers’ Day

Teachers’ Day celebrated on 5th September is one event that warms the teachers’ heart and renews their spirit in the teaching profession. Students show their appreciation towards their teachers with loving cards and flowers. They also sing and dance their hearts out on stage, offering their teachers the best of what they have. For the school staff, it is truly a day to remember.

Children’s day

14th November is Children’s day. On this day, children get the chance to sit back in the auditorium and enjoy the performances of their teachers on stage. Teachers dance, sing and act much to the children’s delight. To culminate the occasion, ice cream is served or other sweets that the children truly enjoy.

Annual Day

The Annual Day is the summit of all the activities of the year. It is the grandest show that the school organises, for it flaunts the crème de la crème. It presents the best students with excellent performance both in curricular and co-curricular activities. They are honoured by the school on this day, rightly recognized and lovingly appreciated by their family and friends.

On this occasion, the school community becomes a family with a loving bond that links everyone together. It is a time to cherish human connections, relationships with students, teachers, parents and well-wishers.

Parents Day

Parents Day is an event that honours the parents who serve as pillars of the family as well as of the school. It is the parents who work hard to hold their families together and who sacrifice for the sake of their children. The school cannot stand tall and strong without their support.

This event is also a time for families from diverging backgrounds to come together to celebrate and become one. The institution is a living organism. It functions as a family on a wide scale and we treasure and celebrate it well.
